Ranger FAQs

What van makes and models does Ranger Design shelving fit? +

Ranger Design makes vehicle-specific shelving for popular commercial vans, including Ford Transit and Transit Connect, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Metris, Ram ProMaster and ProMaster City, Chevrolet Express, GMC Savana. Availability varies by model year, wheelbase and roof height, so select your exact van before choosing a shelving package.

How do I know which Ranger Design shelving package is right for my van? +

Start with your van’s make, model, wheelbase, and roof height. Then choose a package around your trade and workflow, such as plumbing, HVAC, electrical, delivery or general service. Also consider whether a steel package would work for you, as well as enclosed storage, drawers or more open floor space. The Advantage Outfitters team can help confirm fitment before you order if needed.

Can Ranger Design shelving be installed without professional fitting? +

Ranger Design shelving units and accessories can be installed by customers who have the right tools and follow the product-specific instructions. Full packages, partitions, and roof equipment may require more time and fitting experience, however all Ranger products we sell online are meant to be able to be completed DIY. Check the installation requirements for the exact product, because incorrect installation is not covered by Ranger Design’s warranty.

How much aisle space will I have after installing Ranger Design shelving? +

Aisle space depends on your van’s interior width, the depth of the shelving and whether units are fitted on one or both sides. Ranger Design offers different shelf depths and contoured layouts for different vans. Check the dimensions on the product page and compare them with your van before ordering; the CVS team can also help plan a layout.

What is the weight capacity of Ranger Design shelving? +

Capacity varies by shelving line and model. Ranger Design states that many standard shelf trays have a dynamic load capacity of more than 200 lb, while its Fold-Away shelves can carry 250 lb of dynamic weight per shelf. Always use the load rating listed for the exact product rather than applying one figure to every Ranger Design shelf.

What accessories work with Ranger Design shelving? +

Compatible accessories include adjustable shelf dividers, plastic bins, locking shelf doors, drawer cabinets, Partskeeper cases, bottle holders, hooks and wire-reel holders. Compatibility depends on the shelving series, width and shelf depth, so check the product details or ask the CVS team before combining components.

What is Ranger Design’s warranty? +

Warranty length depends on the product. Ranger Design lists a 10-year warranty for shelving and storage units, Fold-Away shelving, aluminum partitions and drawers, standard ladder racks, floors and many accessories. Several other products have three-year or one-year cover. The warranty applies to the original purchaser and excludes issues such as improper installation, misuse and normal wear, so check the current warranty schedule for the exact item.

What is the difference between Ranger Design steel and aluminum shelving? +

Ranger Design aluminum shelving is lighter, helping preserve more of the van’s available payload, while offering the same stated load capacity as its comparable steel shelving. Steel ranges provide a durable, cost-conscious option. The right choice depends on budget, payload, corrosion exposure and the tools or stock carried each day.

Why does shelving weight matter in a work van? +

Every shelving unit, partition and accessory uses part of the van’s payload allowance. A lighter upfit leaves more capacity for tools, materials and stock, which can be especially useful in heavily equipped vans or electric vans. The full load must still remain within the vehicle manufacturer’s payload and axle limits.
